a journal built to actually change

how well you know yourself

Most of us go years without really working out what we want, why we do what we do, or what's actually holding us back.

your self is designed to close that gap.

Not with vague journaling prompts, daily gratitude, or repeated generic pages... but through a structured process of self-reflection and self-discovery, creating self-knowledge you can actually use to enhance your life.

how it's structured:

your self is made up of 28 exercises across 7 chapters — each one exploring a different part of who you are.

Within every chapter, the 4 exercises follow a deliberate rhythm:

GROUND  →  AIM  →  ACT  →  RELEASE / REVIEW

  1. GROUND: get honest and clear about where you stand right now

  2. AIM: identify what you actually want, beyond what you think you “should” want

  3. ACT: turn that clarity into a real, doable shift

  4. RELEASE / REVIEW: reflect, let go of what's not serving you, and consolidate what you've learned

This is the signature framework.

Each chapter builds a strong foundation before pushing you upward, so the insight you gain compounds and grows stronger and stronger with every page.

...

Alongside the 28 core exercises, your self also includes the Mojo Wheel: a simple daily check-in that takes less than 5 minutes.

This is a totally unique-to-28X JOURNAL design that gives you a visual representation of:

- your patterns

- how you innately react to certain environments, changes, experiences

- and how quickly you stay in and move through these 'phases'.

It's not another big exercise, just a small daily habit that adds a second layer of self-awareness underneath the weekly self-reflection.

what you're left holding

By the final page, you won't just have “completed a journal",

you'll have a written your own personal blueprint, in your own words and handwriting, that reflects the clearest, most honest picture of yourself.

What you will have created wasn’t only beneficial in doing, but can be referenced and used by you for many more years to come:

  • Feeling stuck in a rut? Flip back to the exercise where you already worked out exactly what pulls you out of one.

  • Having a low week? Revisit the page where you identified what genuinely lifts you, or the moments you've bounced back from before, or what your ‘best self’ looks like and needs.

  • Losing your sense of balance? You've already written down, in your own words, what balance actually looks like for you.

What you’re left holding becomes less of a journal and more of a manual for yourself – one you wrote, which is exactly why it works.

who is this for?

your self is built for anyone, at any stage, simply ready to get intentional and level up.

Most commonly, this journal this journal is loved by those at a turning point: whether that's feeling lost or directionless, questioning your purpose, done trying to fit into a box that isn’t yours – feeling like there's more out there for you but you're not quite sure what it might be and how to get there.

If you're at a crossroads, or you can feel one coming, this is designed to meet you there.

Most will complete it once, as a deep, foundational reset, as it can be revisited whenever you need to check back in with yourself. Some like to re-do the journal whenever life feels to have pivoted.

(It is worth noting that “your self” is also the first in a series. Future 28X journals will take the self-awareness you build here and apply it to specific areas of life: self-optimising, fitness, travel, sleep, cycle syncing, and more.)

why journaling like this actually works:

1.

2.

3.

your self is built on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques; used by psychology professionals (not vague affirmations).

Every exercise has a clear explainer page, so you always understand what to do and why you're doing it, followed by a guided space to actually respond.

The journal combines introspection with reflection: introspection explores inner thoughts, feelings and core motivations, whilst reflection evaluates how external actions and behaviours align with inner values – the perfect blend to develop self-understanding, and build emotional intelligence and intentional decision-making.
